Rookie needs help

By shaneb ·
I am a rookie web designer and need all the help I can get. I have taken the web design courses and have learned enough to get me in trouble. I am somewhat proficient in Dreamweaver and frontpage. I have been asked by my company to design our web page. We are a small computer company that specializes in whit box machines but are extremely service oriented. We want our site to contain information about or company and our products. We wwould also like to be able to link to our database so that customers can look up the specs of their machine. I dont want the site to be graphic intensive but would like it to look colorful and bold. Any suggestions on methodology and technique would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What kind of web server will you be using? Also, what kind of database are you using to store the information? If you are going to allow access to customer information from your site, you will need to think about how you are going to implement security.

In any case, I don't believe that you will be able to accomplish what you are looking to do by using either Dreamweaver or FrontPage. If your web server is going to be IIS, then you can use and ASP and COM to create your site.
