Router

By sunjay_singh ·
How can I make my win2k server act as router with two NIC's installed.
Nodes from 192.168.2.0 network should be able to ping to network 192.168.3.0
My nodes from 2's network are able to ping the server with ip address 192.168.3.1.
Please provide a detailed information

Install Routing and Remote Access Service. You can configure routing with it.
Go here for MS documentation on RRAS:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/server/help/sag_rtrtopnode.htm
(please remove any spaces)

hope this helps

Configure the proper settings on both your NIC's in the server. Run RRAS wizard, and walk through. Choose the network router option and all should be fine. Make sure that your client's are using the proper gateway address.

Enjoy!
