I want to use my Windows 2003 server as DNS & DHCP & GATEWAY for my LAN so the LAN will access the internet.
My network is like this – WAN => ISP (82.x.x.1) => modem => switch => win2003 server, winxp, winxp…
My windows 2003 server has only 1 NIC (network adapter). I want to use it as DHCP and DNS server.
I bought a dedicated DSL, so I have a permanent IP that the ISP gave me – 82.x.x.139. So I gave the win2003 2 ips – 82.x.x.139 & 10.0.0.10. Win2003 serve ris DHCP giving addresses 10.0.0.x.
Now, other WInXP workstations receive from win2003 server IP, but they cannot go out to the WAN.
Win2003 server going out to the WAN perfectly.
When I do from stations – NSLOOKUP (from cmd), it’s working well, meaning there is DNS connection to the WAN, but not routing to the WAN 🙂
