this is the picture
PIX—–server on DMZ—- cisco 2611 router- ethernet connection —- customer router— customer server
the DMZ host has a persistent route configured to the cisco 2611.
no routing protocol running just static routes.
the problem is that intermittently the servers cannot connect and yet from the cli of the 2611 router I can ping the server of DMZ and the remote customer server
however they cannot ping each other, this set up has run happily for many years and just lately problems started, no changes have been made. they have had connectivity in the past and the first few times connectivity was lost we were able to restore it by reloading the 2611 so I cant see it being a config problem
I have logging enabled but there is no errors logged
I do not have access to the customer router but the problem appears to be at my side as I can ping both servers from my router
my router basically doesnt appear to be routing
the server at the customer end also has a persistent route configured point all traffic to the DMZ via his router.
Any troubleshooting ideas or help much appreciated
my router incidentally is running
c2600-ik9s-mz.122-16a but i dont think its a bug related issue
thanks
