I am currenty using a “acer” lap-top and have had to reinstall a new opporating system 5 times in the last 2 months, I am currenty running XP this time.but have had 2000 and 98 all with these problems…after my re-install and reformat only a day or so later i start to have issues with my RPC server ..well at least that is what it tells me then and has to restart, i have adjusted those propertys to stop that just to type out this message but..then it evolves to error mesages to microsoft..then i start to have problems sending mail saying that my memory is full .. and it is not!..there have been problems at start up saying “bad clusters” being repaired ect. I am sure that it must be some kind of virus that has found it’s way into here and it can’t be removed by reformating… i don’t know … please someone tell me I am wrong and that there is some kind of reason for this that i can fix.. it’s getting to expensive and time consuming ..i am about to leave the computer era in a cloud of dust
