I was renaming the computer systems in my company but some couldn’t be renamed. They give a ‘RPC Server is unavailable’ error always whenever I attempt it. Same thing happens sometimes when trying to add a network printer (atimes it gives a ‘There are no logon servers available to service the logon request’ error.
I noticed that this happens on the systems that are on the domain while the workgroup computers never gives such problem.
What could be wrong? How can I correct this error? I have checked the rpc service on the server, it’s running.
We use a Windows Server 2003 for small business Server operating system, and the client machines all have Windows XP Professional OS installed on them (all original)
