RRAS VPN and Network Clients

by dirkmare . Updated 18 years, 1 month ago

Hi

I want setup a remote site with about 19 clients to connect to Head Office with 60 clients. For Email and some file sharing.

First some IP info of both the sites.
HO: SBS 2003 Server with 2 nic`s RRAS with Remote Access, Excha, DNS and DHCP
Internal Network IP with DHCP: IP 192.168.1.1 Sub 255.255.255.0
External Lan IP x.x.x.210 Sub 255.255.255.248 and Router x.x.x.209

at the moment HO working 100% VPN access email and internet.

RS: SBS 2003 Server with 2 nic`s RRAS with Remote Access, DHCP
Internal Network IP with DHCP: IP 192.168.2.1 Sub 255.255.255.0
External Lan IP x.x.x.42 Sub 255.255.255.248 and Router x.x.x.41

ok at first when setting up RS with RRAS only server can acces internet and connect VPN demand dial connection ip, can sucsessfully ping HO lan ip (192.168.1.1). none of the other clients on the network has internet nor can they ping the HO lan ip.

When changing the DHCP scope options on RS server and adding the ISP DNS server address i can connect the clients to the internet but still cant connect to HO lan ip, Static route on the RS was added for the demand dial vpn connection (ip 192.168.1.0 sub 255.255.255.0 dail this connection selected)

tried setting up this connection with and without firewall no antvirus installed on RS server.

Could this be an DNS problem when installing DNS on RS server server looses internet connectivity

can i add RS server as member DC to HO. SBS software not installed on RS server??
