Run a program across the network asuser

By ric111 ·
My client has a peer-to-peer network with several XP machines, some W98, one W2K Pro. Another machine, which they listed as "server," which ran W2K Pro, has two hard drives. One runs the OS, the other runs applications. I am moving the client to a client/server network with W2K Advanced Server with AD on the "server." I had some problems setting up AD, so reloaded W2K AS with DNS but without AD. Disconnected second drive in the process. Checked w/tech support of the vertical program client is using; it makes no hooks to the OS. After setting up AS, reconnected the second drive. Program runs fine from XP machines when logged in as administrator. If logged in as user, program starts to load, claims a file is not found, and bombs. If I list the user as an administrator on the W2K AS machine, program runs fine on their login on the XP machine. W2K is running update 3, XP has update 1. Any suggestions?

I don't really understand what are you talking about, but here is my sugestion:
- if u use AD policies to install the program, assign this program at the machine level rather to the user level.
- if programs runs fine as administrator and stops as user, change the user type to Power user. (gives rights to install programs on the computer).
