Hi. Can you tell us what OS/SP level you are running? First thought is that you try to uninstall any program you have installed recently, second thought is to run a full antivirus-scan on your system

Hi

Make sure your copy of Windows is ok by clicking Start-Run then typing

SFC

and then click OK.

This will start the system file checker. You can use it to make sure you are using the latest version of all your system files, and it will also offer to replace any corrupt or deleted files.

If your installation files (the .cab files) are on your hard drive (C:\Windows\options\cabs) then point the program to that target when replacing files. Otherwise, you will need your installation disk.

Run this and see if it helps you.

Good luck

This type of error message may occur after you use the Add New Hardware tool in Control Panel if "drivers=mmsystem.dll" line is missing from the [boot] section of the System.ini file.
Use any text editor (such as Notepad) to edit the System.ini file. Add the following line to the [boot] section of the file: drivers=mmsystem.dll
Save and then close the system.ini file. Then reboot. Let us know if the problem continues.
