rundll32.exe error

on the startup on win2k professional, recently recieved errors stating - AN ECEPTION OCCURRED WHILE TRYING TO RUN mmsys.cpl, mmseRunOnce
and- "0x77fcc00a" referenced memory at "0x00370028" the memory could not be "read" checked event view and no description for these events were given, and the computer has booted ok since then, although it does seem a bit slower. i would like to know what these events were about, any help appreciated.

he most likely thing is that you had a power ripple on the line as the system booted and caused a problem.

If you really want to find out exactly what that error message means you should find several references to it listed here but you'll have to do some digging.

It's unlikely that the system is any slower than it was previously but if you really want to check out the Hardware you can download The Ultimate Boot CD and run some Hardware Diagnostics just to keep yourself happy.

Running Defrag on a regular basis will stop the drive/s from becoming heavily fragmented and slowing down the system as well.
