Rundll32.exe infected by virus

By mjjones ·
OS is XP home. Downloaded software unfortunately a dialer came too and infected rundll32.exe.
deleted rundll and managed to remove dialer. I have used spykiller, spypot,AVG,I also have Kerio firewall.I have tried registry mechanic,PC Doctor on call to reinstallk rundll32.exe,also used CD XP ( I now have to XP os's on my system and cannot access certain features on Control Panel.I cannot access the ADD/REMOVE programmes facility on the Control panel and other areas within Control panel.Although I can gain access to Administrative tools.
The dialogue box that appears where trying access Add/Remove states :- "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
I have tried various forums including Microsoft support without any success.

Any help in resolving this problems (s) will be greatly appreciated. Michael

Please use the virus infected hard drive as a slave drive in another PC which has XP OS. This PC must have Anti virus software installed.Scan the slave drive for virus.Usually the slave drive appears as E: or F: drive. After removing virus, you can put back the Hard drive to your original system.
Hope this helps.
