I recently requested assistance to a software question concerning software that requires the master CD to run even after install.
My question is as follows.
How can I get certain software to run straight from the HD after install without having to insert the master CD. I have done this with WIN98 and it works perfect. I copied the entire contents of my WIN98 software to a partition and installed it. When ever Windows requires info or files, it always remembers where the orinal install files are located and automatically goes for what it needs.
I have tried this with other software (Encarta 2000 & my A+ Study Course) with negative results. Even after copying the entire contents of the master to a HD partition and installing, the programs listed still ask for the master CD in order to run.
Where am I going wrong?
Need some advise!
