    Running DOS program on Win2000

    by m159715 ·

I have a new computer with Windows 2000. However, some of the software I use for work is DOS based program and Windows 2000 will not execute them. I am unsure of the syntax for using “forcedos” command. For example, if the file I want to execute is located in C:\PROGRAMS\WP60\WP.EXE, how would I configure the shortcut to execute the WP command?

In reply to Running DOS program on Win2000

      Start Create Shortcut Wizard (RightClick-New-Shortcut)

      type in the box:
      forcedos c:\programs\wp60\wp.exe
      or
      forcedos /d c:\programs\wp60 wp.exe

Before creating the shortcut it is probably good idea to play in Dos Prompt(CMD.EXE) window.

Do not forget to configure Environment variables (in MyComputer–Properties-Advanced) which are probably needed for WordPerfect, and/or configure AUTOEXEC.NT CONFIG.NT files (not autoexec.bat & config.sys !!)
