Running exe file on mapped target pc

By donalconlon ·
Hello,
I'm trying to write a script to update the virus scan enging on all our client computers. I can map to each computer and copy the upgrade exe file to the target computers. However when I command the file to run it updates the scan engine on the server where the script runs from and not on the target computer. How do I get my script to run on the target computer. I cannot use a logon script as the exe file needs admin rights to run. The script is shown below. Many Thanks.

net use q: \\bloggs\c$
xcopy c:\4150eng.exe q:
q:\4150eng.exe /silent /f /prompt
del q:\4150eng.exe
net use q: /del

Unless there is a utility I have not seen, you will not be able to run the executable on the machine without actually being at the machine. Products like RemoteControl can let you take control of a desktop as if you were at the desktop, but not via a login script.

Alternatively, you should be able to use SMS or a similar product to apply the patches.

As for a script, you could use the scheduler service on each machine to run the script and launch the executable overnight. It will generally run with system rights and work.

Hi
If you are using VirusScan then you can use it console and configure it to upgrade the engine and update the data file using the Autoupgrade and autoupdate in reguler basis.the console is on the taskbar click it the clik Autoupgarde or autoupdate where you can use your network (download it to where every body has read access to (a maped drive) or use the internet.
or use the task schedule to do your script in each pc or craete a batch file.
There are manny tool where you can run programs in remote pc which are remote control software
such as pcanywhere closup ect.. but for free and this purpose i would try PsExec form Sysinternals
