Running of MAC Software on a PC

    Locked

    by saidanddone ·

Does anyone know if it is possible to run a MAC Program on a PC. I don’t know much about MAC & I have a friend who has a daughter with a Learning Disability. He purchased a special screen (Touch Type) to allow her to use the Computer (It is the only stimulis she reactes to). Unfortunately a software package that he purchased for her (through her therapist) is only in MAC format.

He contacted the company & told him they had not considered converting it to PC format. He really can’t afford to purchase a new machine. Can anyone help me or recommend a point of resource that I can give to him.

    Thank You in Advance

Maintosh software does not run on a PC by default. The operating systems are totally different. I know there is PC environment software for the mac (Virtual PC), but I can’t recall if there is any software that will simulate a Mac on a PC. Your best bet is to return the software if possible.

There are some special input devices that you can use a pen on a special pad to move the mouse around.

The best vendor for cross platform application emulation is thursby.com. I really can’t remember if there is a Mac emulation software package that runs on a PC.

      Good luck.

Try one of these products that allow you to run Mac OS programs on a PC:

      Executor

Your response has at least given hope to someone who had none before. At least now we have the ability to come up with a good solution to his dilema.

It was actually a 2 fold problem & I am able to help with the 1st part, but was not able to help on this 2nd part.

Now at least we have hope to help his daughter and possibly other children with the same problem.

        Thank You & God Bless
