Running windows programs on Linux (PCLINUX)

By bevg1971 ·
I am currently using Pclinux and windows xp (dual boot). I am trying to run windows on Pclinux. I installed vmware server on pclinux however I am unable to create a network folder on linux so I can see it from the windows operating system. Can somebody provide with the steps on how to do this?

install and configure samba server on the pclinux system
then set the folder you want to share as a samba shared folder.
vmware is not needed, unless your using windows as a guest os

you can only see the linux folder if linux is running, so using vmware to run one os is going to be the only way to have both runing on the same hardware.
vmware does allow for sharing folders, through vmware, but it is far slower data transfer than using samba.
