An organisation with 200,000 employees wants an architecture for its personnel & payroll system which can be interrogated around the
country by each of its 4 regional offices. We recommend that the integrated application sits on a mainframe at thecentre, and the
regional offices run relatively ‘smaller’ servers i.e. UNIX/NT which connect back to the centre using high speed links. A version of the application will sit on the ‘small’ servers so that payroll & personnel processing can be doneat the regional level.
