S/W to poll if a file date/time has changed

By fort-hill ·
Hello all.
I have a need to be able to interrogate if a single file has changed (via date/time/size), and if so then do something (i.e. copy it to a backup folder, etc). The routine should always be running when Windows starts.

Is there a windows-based applet (shareware) that can do this?

Any help is appreciated.

any time a file is changed, the archive attribute is active, meaning the file will be backed up on your next back up cycle. if backup's what you're concerned about.

if not, i don't know of any sw off the top of my head.

You could try this

[pre]This command will do a full backup the first time it is run and an incremental backup thereafter. Meaning that it will only backup any files that have been added or modified. It can be run from a batchfile on startup.

xcopy /s /c /d /e /h /i /r /k /y C:\data \data
