s3 trio vid card wont work with 98se

have read all the previous statements on this subject…..have gone goofy tryin to resolve this conflict….isnt a matter of life and death but I am always up to a challenge!!!! have down loaded sooo many diff drivers none seem to correct prob anyone who has done this and won e mail me soon TY, ps followed all step shown previously , would like at least 256 colors back on …..any ideas please let me know
