Safari 15 slow and buggy on M1 MacBook Pro

    by kiyaramehta75 ·

    Hey all,

I am just wondering if anyone else with the an M1 Pro MacBook Pro is suffering from really poor performance from Safari?

    my issues:

    Search bars occasionally seize up.

intermittent slowdown in page load times (deffo not my internet connection, I have made direct comparisons). sometimes the load hangs for 10-15 seconds or so while chrome loads immediately.

random page freezes where I can no longer interact with the page I’m viewing.

    Thanks.

Why must we use Safari? I use Chrome, Opera and Firefox.

        A valid question.

The choice of browsers is quite broad but I expect the poster, as I do, wonder why Apple cannot get their branded browser to work nicely on their branded OS.

It’s likely for the same reasons as why some sites work on only a few browsers. I’m sure you’ve heard of “insert company name here” sites that only worked on IE6 or such.

If you want to see what a mess browsers are, check out:

Be sure to take notice of the “browser scores.”
