At home I have a virtual PC running
microsoft 98, on a Power G4 with mac OS
9.0.4, recently I tried to down load and
install Java (the MRJ install and and SDK
install). I then tried to install it and part of
the instruction was to set the path for the
jdk 1.3 in thr autoexec.bat, however i first
tried to set through the command prompt
and not the H-Key as I should have done.
The consequence is that I am struck in
the safe mode and don’t know how to get
out, will not start on any other mode than
the safe mode although I do get the 6
choices ( tried unsucessfullyto make a
bootlog.txt). Have checked the devices
and nothing has an exclamation mark,
only that in the safe mode, the PC
wouldn’t recognise the cd-rom drive (
which has no problems when using the
mac). Anyway to get out of this mess.
