My company recently contracted a team of highly experienced IT consultants. Reason is to restructure our IT dept. and lay the foundation to grow our dept into a world class organization.
There is slight feeling that this is a smokescreen to actually turn our dept over to a 3rd party IT services company, like HP or IBM.
Whether this is true or not, I’m not that concerned. What is in my mind, is finding out the pros and the cons of working for an outsourced company. Will salaries get lowered?Will learning opportunities be scarce? Will there be less loyalty to the company?…
