    samba.nlm for netware 5.1

    Can anyone provide any resources for this version. Information related to version 4.1 or lower (Bindery) will not work. Samba.nlm for netware 5.1 needed for NDS is needed. Need to translate SMB to NCP for W2K Pro Offline Folder synchronization activation. MS official position is Offline Folders will not work with Netware volumes.

      Unfortunately, I can’t help with the NLM, but I think you’re going to have another problem as well. I have been unable to get W2K to authenticate against Samba, even running on a Linux platform. The concensus seems to be that Microsoft’s “innovative extension” of the Kerberos protocol for W2K broke Samba authentication.

      I hope someone has a better answer but I’ve spent months trying to integrate W2K into an environment in which NT, Linux and Novell had been playing together quite nicely until their new little brother showed up.

        I can’t believe that Netware would have a samba.nlm for Netware 4.1 but not 5.1. SMB to NCP translation seems to be a relatively well established need in the networking industry. Can anyone recommend a Netware SMB to NCP redirector other than Gateway Services for Windows NT? PS I have checked Q227993

        True, however, my client has hired me to engineer a resolution to their environment. You adapt and adjust as necessary.

        True, however, when a client hires me, I adapt to the situation and adjust to get the job done. Since Q227993 says it’s possible due to redirection (SMB/NCP) through Gateway Services for Windows NT, than having the equivalent on the Netware side may work.
