Same list sorted 2 ways at the same time

By jerry ·
I have a list of 50 items with 50 locations. I would like to show the items in order with the location they are in (not all items have a location)in columns on the left. On the right I would like to show all the 50 locations and what is in that location. I only want to enter the information in the left cols.

If you're using Word or Excel it's pretty easy.
in Word select the columns and got to Table>Sort
In Excel select ONE cell in the group and go to Data>Sort.
In Access use a Query.

The list is being used in Excel. There are two cols on the left with titles of Items and location sorted by Items and on the right side of the sheet, two columns labeled Location and items. When I enter a location for an Item on the left, I would like to see that Item show up next to the proper location in the list on the right. The list on the right will be listed in location order.

Send me a sample.
It could be you'll want to use something like a VLOOKUP function.
