Sample logon scripts

By jsh61 ·
Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a very basic logon script that will map network drives and network printers. I am wondering what the syntax is for these mappings, as well as how to re-establish each connection every time the user logs back onto the PC.

Thanks in advance...

Shaun.

Here's something that might help you. In this case, we are assuming that the server where all our data is, is called TITAN.
========================================

ECHO **** Mapping IT Directory (H:) ****
NET USE H: \\TITAN\IT

ECHO **** Setting Time to Server Time ****
NET TIME \\TITAN /set /yes

ECHO **** Mapping Shared Directory (S:) ****
NET USE S: \\TITAN\SHARED

ECHO **** Mapping User Directory (U:) ****
NET USE U: /HOME

============================

Note, that last line only works if you have set up a home directory in the user's profile in user manager.

To map a printer (which is only necessary if you need to print from DOS) use the same syntax except you substitute the LPT port (i.e. LPT2) for the drive letter.
