Sandboxing Freeware Help?

By stankmaster ·
I'm wondering how you could tell there is a problem in your isolated sandbox to prevent you from installing whatever you have isolated to your hard-drive.

Clarify recursive question

by robo_dev In reply to Sandboxing Freeware Help? ...

how could you tell there was a problem that caused a problem? Because the resultant problem did not occur if the primary problem did not, thus assuming that correlation=causation :)

But seriously,
Are you saying your sandbox has some data integrity issues?

What kind of sandbox? What kinds of apps? What kind of installation failure?

Cannot comply with a double negative ...

If the contention is:
"whatever you have isolated to your hard-drive" then "prevent you from installing" cannot be true because it's already BEEN installed otherwise you wouldn't be able to isolate it on the hard drive.

What you are proposing is a bit like asking "Does GOD believe in GOD?"

What a silly question to ask.

Let me be more concise,
I want to know how to detect a problem in my isolated sandbox. Should I just scan for virus's? Knowing if there is a problem would PREVENT me from installing "outside" of my sandbox.

As to what you should do

by OH Smeg In reply to Clearer

All depends on what it is that you are using for a Sandbox.

You'll need to tell us that and what you are actually using as a complete system so we can answer that.

For instance if you have your Sandbox on a Linux Platform scanning for and Windows Infections will not do a lot as they will not be active or even capable of running.
