    WHat skills are needed to do Basis Administration, I enjoy the implementation part of projects and would like to be involved as a technical consultant

      You should look at becoming a certified Basis consultant through SAP training courses. Typically the best way to start is to get your skills to a point where you can land a job with a consulting company. This should help provide you with the skills, experience and breadth. In addition, the company will usually help with training courses although there is often a requirement to remain with the company for a period of time afterwards. If you like the life, you could later go independant but I wouldn’t recommend this to start with…

      I will skip on the Basis skills here but SAP implementation does not really involve much of Basis skills besides the initial quick sizing for equipment and software and then support after it goes live. SAP implementations involve BPM and mostly management and SAP functionals (business analysts) and some ABAP work (usually very senior ABAP programmers).
