Sarbanes-Oxley and what I need to do to comply

By aerospaced ·

We are running a competative made firewall. It blocks all the fun stuff. My concern is the teeth that is attached to the Sarbanes-Oxley act. What must I ensure with my network and databases to comply with this law? I need to make sure that I am protecting my company. The law is so vague, even after reading twice and looking up the big words!

Consult with the Legal Department

by BFilmFan In reply to Sarbanes-Oxley and what I ...

I would have a meeting with the Legal department and ask for the company's official policies.

If your company is not traded on the stock exchange, SOX isn't going to be an issue for you.

If you are, I am sure they have an auditor that can tell you all the rules. SOX compliance is a complex process and is usually handled by people that have been trained in all the ramifications of the law.

The only safe answer here

Is to ask the Companies Legal Department for their Take on this.

Even if they get it wrong you will have complied with what the Company is attempting to do as they understand things.
