SATA drives

Hello,

I have a question regarding SATA drives for which your help will be greatly appreciated.

I have two SATA drives installed on my computer and they are working fine within WINXP SP2.

I don’t remember if the drivers were installed with WIN XP or if I have installed later on when installing the drives.

The problem is when I try to boot on a CD for various reasons, for exemple DRIVE Image CD or WIN XP CD they (the SATAs) are not recognized.

When I tried to boot on the CD(s) I took care to press F6 and insert the floppy containing the SIL3112r (received from the mother board supplier, ASUS)into the drive A; that driver is loaded but when the boot process is finished the SATAs are not recognized all the same.

Could anyone give me a hint?
The mother board is a P4S8X\LAN\1394\SATA\GOLD-UAY from ASUS.

Thank you for any input.
