Here’s what is going on and what I’m trying to accomplish; any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Using Ubuntu 8.0.4 as the Host system with VMware server 1.07 and a Win XP Home guest.
All drives are Sata; however the system drive is the only one to be recognized.
There are 6 sata ports on the board itself which is where the drives are connected, as opposed to a pci card. They are not set in any Raid config.
None of the other 5 drives can be seen. Before I moved to the linux host, the drives could be seen and used as needed.
The board is an Intel DP35DP if needed.
What I’m trying to accomplish is to use the drives within the guest (Windows), but restrict access/hide, if at all possible from the host system (linux).
All patches that Windows believes are needed have been completed.
