sata pci card

exisitng sata connection broke on motherboard for 2nd drive "d". after installing sata pci card windows is deleting all programs files calling them orphan files. Is there any way to bridge the 2 pci connections so the pathway can be maintained?

I don't think that you'll find Windows is Deleting anything

It will however not point to the correct Port to address the Files on the HDD that is now plugged into a different SATA Port.

The first thing that you'll have to do is make sure that you have installed the PCI to SATA Drivers and then when that is done add the SATA Drive. After this is done you'll need a program to reestablish the missing links so something like Norton's System Works or Iolo's System Mechanic may fix most of the problems though I doubt that anything will be 100% effective.

The best solution is to reinstall the software that was located on the second HDD and allow the system to establish the new links between the 2 HDD's.
