Satellite Pro A30 recovery disc

very slow system windows ex professional so decided to run the product recovery CD to start afresh. CD ran for a little while and then stopped at INVALID PARTITION TABLE.
Now the laptop won’t do anything apart from get to the same statement and hang indefinitely.

Is there a way around this, perhaps using other software ? Help would be very appreciated.
