Satellite Pro A30 recovery disc

By andyfalconer ·
very slow system windows ex professional so decided to run the product recovery CD to start afresh. CD ran for a little while and then stopped at INVALID PARTITION TABLE.
Now the laptop won't do anything apart from get to the same statement and hang indefinitely.

Is there a way around this, perhaps using other software ? Help would be very appreciated.

This unit appears to have an IDE HDD so that isn't the problem

Though there are several BIOS Security options available so I would start to look there first.

But as this comes standard with XP Home and if you have compressed the HDD and are attempting to install XP Home without SP2 I'm not sure if this will work. If that is what is going on here you can try to make a Slipstreamed CD with SP2 included by following the directions here

Otherwise the only thing that I can think of is to wipe the HDD and allow the Windows Installer to format the HDD and install Windows. For some reason the Partition isn't being seen as a valid partition and that is about the only option that I can think of.
