saving a website-problem

when saving a website i have sometimes the problem that i see only gif-files in the directory i saved it to. how can i open this website? or, do i have to click on the website before or do i have to mark the whole website before saving? what is the correct procedure?

Usually you use "save as" and that will save all the files from that web page. To open it you click on the htm or html file and that should open your Internet Explorer. To see the code you need a wysiwyg html editor.

You can also see the code if you right click on the web page and go to View Source

Another way is to have the site available for offline access.

Add it to your favorites then choose favorites..organize favorites. Select the site you want and select the Make available offline. You can then setup the options for scheduling a download and how many links deep it will download etc.

Then to look at the pages just choose it from your favorites

If you have Frontpage 2000 installed just create a new website and then choose the "import from web" alternative.
FP will then replicate the entire website.
