    Saving Emails In Netscape

    Locked

    by karmelkids ·

I just need to know how to save all of my emails to a zip disk in case something happens to my pc. I’ve tried the back-up/restore functions, but goofed up somewhere. I seem to have back-up some of the folders, but can’t get the systems restore function to work. It won’t let me access my “D” drive where I backed up some folders. Just tell me how I can save all of my emails and I use Netscape. Thx, mh

To back up your mail / user settings in netscape, find your user-folder (usu. Netscape/users/UserName) and zip / copy it. Whatever happens to your netscape installation, you can restore your mails / user settings (proxy, pwds etc.) by simply unzipping your archive to the ‘users’-dir.

      hope that helps

As with the above answer, but you also might need to manually recreate the profile. If you just copy the files back into the original location it may or may not pick them up (it seems to be a little fussy!) If this is the case please make sure the profile has the same name as the original and it will then pick them all up again.

Back up your files as shown in the previous responses, but also be sure to maintain any directory structure inside the user dir. Also to make the file smaller be sure to delete all of the files located in your cache dir before creating the zip file.
