I am interested in simplifying the organization of all the information stored on my PC. I am tired of trying to keep the folder structure in my *.pst file in synch with the folder structure in MyDocuments on the hard drive.
It seems difficult, if not impossible, to store standard Office documents, or even links to documents within the folders of my *.pst -- but it is fairly easy to move all of the messages (drag and drop as *.msg files) from my *.pst or even from the Inbox directly to my hard drive folders.
What are the dis-advantages to moving all my messages to the folders on my hard drive? It seems that the *.pst folder is likely a compressed format, but on my tests I see virtually the same space used either way.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
