Saving password in W2K for Exchange …

by dlanors . Updated 24 years, 9 months ago

Is there a way to have a Win2K Pro client remember a password (it is the same password as the user logging into the local machine)so that when they log into Exchange (5.5), they don’t need to enter the password again. I think this is happening because the client is not logging into the domain, but rather the local machine. We do this because these are laptops that are used on and off the domain, and we don’t want multiple profiles. There are no other issues, as the passwords are same on the local machine and the domain, so all authentication effectively “passes through”, and access is transparantly given for drive mappings, printing, etc. The only issue is that when Outlook tries to connect to the Exchange Server, the password is not passed, and the user needs to reenter it. We would like this password to pass through as well, but I can’t seem to make it happen.
