Saving picture problem

For no reason the only option available to me when saving a picture has suddenly become “untitled” and .bmp.

The normal should allow me to save the image as whatever it originally was. I’ve done this for years. But this comes up with the same single option regardless of the original source.

Has anyone ever solved this enigma?
