Saving picture problem

By hroeder ·
For no reason the only option available to me when saving a picture has suddenly become "untitled" and .bmp.

The normal should allow me to save the image as whatever it originally was. I've done this for years. But this comes up with the same single option regardless of the original source.

Has anyone ever solved this enigma?

did you install or add any programs recently?

add on any cradle devices??

A friend installed his new palm software, and now has the same type of issue.. its connected in some way to how the images are xfered to his palm...

look to those types of causes.. also any Xscripted garbage that may have recently been added thanks to MS & its explorer allowances.

Nope. No palm, no cradle. No new programs. No virus. Have deep scanned the entire system. It almost has to be in IE, but nothing seems to make sense.

Hey.. I did a search at MS and came up with a very interesting article..

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q260650

It has another inside it that doesn't seem as useable, but here it is as well...

See if the first one works for you... if not I'll keep looking.. I'm also going to have my friend check his system for the same things..

This one did it. The basic problem is a "filled internet cache". Don't know how it gets "filled"; but deleting the cache and deleting history does away with the problem
