My current setup is just a simple little SBS2003 box, but after having talked to my boss we decided we need to go ahead and move away from external hosting and bring all our mail and the companies website in house. We have an extra server2000 box already being used on the network, basically as a storage depot. But what i need to do is turn that into the new sharepoint/website host.
What the end result should look like is our main (external) website should have an employees login link that will forward to the sharepoint site. The code for the website is just HTML, so the forwarding wont be an issue there.
The plan is to move the sharepoint database over to the server2000 machine (cause it has RAID) and use the sbs03 machine just for exchange/DC duties.
Do you guys see any issues with this that i may have missed? I’m just trying to get my ducks in a row before I got messing up our intranet.
