SBS 4.5 Service Pack

By stephen ·
This may be silly but I have one network w/ SBS 4.5 and NT Service pack 4. Can I use the regular NT service Pack 6 or 6a (high encryption) or is there a specific service pack for SBS 4.5? If so, what is it?
Thank you

SBS 4.5 Service Pack

NT Server 4.0 is the same operating system either standalone, with SBS, or with Backoffice. Thus, they all use the same service packs. The other components of SBS-Exchange, Proxy, and SQL- are the same as those that are included with Backoffice, and each also has their own service pack.

I stand by my answer. Check Microsoft's Knowledge Base article Q190152.

stephen,

do not try that if u want ur server to be running properly.remember the procedure of sbs 4.5 installation---WINNT.SIF script file is used to automate the installation.this file autodetects ur nic, modem, installs DHCP,WINS,PROXY,EXCHANGE,OPTION PACK automatically.SBS service packs r different from normal NT4 service packs.latest i think is 4.similarly tserver service packs r different.latest is 6.only in case of nt4 & backoffice 4.5 the service packs r same.SBS is called BACK OFFICE SBS 4.5. if u r in U.S.A then yours is 128 bit high encryption only.
