Currently we have a single sbs03 box handling everything in the office from DHCP to Exchange to Sharepoint. What’s happeneing is as we are growing we are slowing down. At the moment we have about 5-7 contractors pulling images (.rars actually of about 30mB+ each) so the server is lagging horribly and its beginning to become a problem. So heres what im thinking:
Get a new server, just for sharepoint. Something with raid4 (or better) and lots of memory.
so my questions are
1) does this sound like a decent option?
2) will this work with sbs03 or is it a 1server environment?
3) anything you think i need to know before purchasing.
The actual how-tos i can get from a tutorial or something (im only the IT guy cause i know the most about computer. Not dedicated IT). Im just looking for some forethought to jumping in.
