Scan & Defrag problem

Do you run antivirus software? I couldn't find any reference to a file named "CESREJ.EXE" in any of the documentation I have, nor on the web. I would try doing a search for this file, renaming it, rebooting, and then give scandisk another go. It's quite possible that you've contracted some sort of virus. Before running either scandisk or defrag, it may be a good idea for you to press CTRL+ALT+DLT and end all tasks except explorer and systray.

You can also attempt to run scan disk and defrag in safe mode with less drivers loaded Just in case this is being caused by a conflict.

This sounds more like a virus that you have ,run the anti virus and then try running scan disk and defrag from the Dos prompt.
