ScanJet 5200C

My ScanJet 5200C used to work just fine till I switched to WinXp. Now every time I logon and the scanner is connected I got a blue screen sort of thing and the system reboots. I downloaded the patches and the latest drivers from hp.com, I asked themto send me the patch CD as well, but I’m afraid that will only do the same thing as the downloaded stuff : nothing.
Did anyone encountered something similar ?
