I have a scanner attached to a new computer that I have just installed Windows 2000 on. The scanning software has been installed for two scanners an HP Scanjet 5300c and 3570c. Both scanners work when I log on to use them as local Administrator. However, the computer is on a network and with any other profile neither scanner will work. With the 5300c I get an error message saying the Scanner cannot be accessed and it is being accessed by another application although I have shut everything else down that I can think of (virus scanner, etc). With the 3570c I get a Runtime error in Program: _mfiles\Hewlett-Packard\Digital Imaging\bin\Hpqdirec.exe. Abnormal program termination.
Are there any changes to the Registry that I can make? Ihave also recently installed security updates that might be causing a problem although I cannot uninstall them.
