Scedular removal!

By mtl_webdesign ·
This is a bit annoying promblem, sometimes its easy to remove from the taskbar. But i did encounter once that it would'nt be able to choose "Never use option" from its advanced menu. and did check out on www.regedit.com how to manually move this scheduler from the registry, did that on 4 registry entries and thought now its gone...Nope its still there its like a virus...never gives up.

So how do i permanently remove this Scheduler from Registry..because i can't use any other options in the Scheduler menu except of inactivate...blabla, the never use option is GONE..

I have an easy way to do it.

In System Tools go to System Information.
Then, go to tools and choose System Configuration utility. Choose the startup tab and uncheck "TaskMonitor" Reboot and voila!!!

If you are using Win95 the fisrt answer will not work. In both Win95-98 you can go Start,Run "msconfig" then startup and uncheck Task Mon. Note this puts a sets a reg key in -run, so don't go play with that reg setting. Good luck.

If you are referring to the Task Scheduler, then you need to go to the registry entry or Msconfig and remove or uncheck (respective) the MSTASK.exe entry.
Run Regedit and navigate to:
Local Machine\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Run and also RunServices. Here, look for a keys for mstask and taskmon. Remove both.
If you install or reinstall Internet Explorer, it will reinstate them. So, you'll have to go back and remove them again.

1) Click start, then run.

2) Type: Rundll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSectionEx c:\windows\inf\mstask.inf,,,256

3)Click ok.
