Scheduling Backup job

By edmond_sng ·
Hi,

I am trying to schedule backup job on my win2K server. I log on as a domain admin and create the job then schedule it to run at certain time. But when I log off, the job never runs at all. The message in the log file is
Skipped files in "NT\NTBackup\data\FileBack.bks" folder. Folder not found.

However if I stay log on or lock the workstation the job run fines.

Please help. Thanks

Regards,
Edmond

Don't log off, try just doing a control-alt-delete and lock the server. BTW, what backup app are you using? Could be that the backup is configured to log in as domain administrator as a service and unless you are logged in it won't run.

Try running the backup job from the command line. The command you have to use is "ntbackup" with additional switches.
After you create a satisfactory command put it in a batch file. You can now make a scheduled task for a specific user that will run at a certain time.
It works OK at my firm.
Good luck.
