Scheuling In MS Project 98

We were recently asked to prepare schedules for on going projects and reflect the following details on the schedule.
(a) Planned Work
(b) Actual Work
(c) Notes On Causes of dealys

The major problem faced by the engineers was that anytime the actual work schedule was entered, the bars in the Gnatt chart moved.

What our management wants is to be able to view two sets of bars, one showing the planned work and the other showing the actual work for each task.

How do we go about this?Our tenporary solution was to enter the actual work as a separate task.
