Scrambled text

By gmeyer ·
Here is a mind teaser. When I open a new document or reply to an email using yahoo the text scrambles like it is being overwritten everywhere except where you are typing, It will clear up if you click in the cc box or anywhere outside the active text box until you begin typing again and it scrambles. Not a big deal as I don;t use it much. THe other day I happened to need to write something in Notepad and it did the same thing, now I am looking for the cause. All other programs seem to be fine, No viruses are detected on the system. Running Win98se connected to the net on a DSL line using PPPoE from Enternet, Any ideas?

If you are using a custom font, change to the std font and try it.

Sounds like a corrupted font. Why not delete it and take it from another computer and install it.

In addition to the previously suggested answers (checking the font you are using), I think you should check the encoding settings in your web browser (View->Encoding) and make sure it suits your windows version.

You might as well check the regional settings in your control panel.

Rafik El-Raheb.
