Screen content upside down,

By andyconcept ·
Windows XP Home edition OS with a wireless optical keyboard and mouse. Something has dropped onto the keyboard and the contents of the screen has turned upside down. I have restarted the system but this has made no difference. Can any one suggest a solution?

i have never heard of anything having to do with the keyboard affecting video. i have never heard of a screen displaying upside down, either. have you consider the possibility you have a virus? have you tried a previous restore point? have you tried safe mode?

maybe some video cards do not support this? maybe you have to have latest xp driver or something?

lol... no virus... common problem. Let's just say it's a feature in XP...

CTRL PG UP

or CTRL PG DWN

It may be alt pg up / alt pg dwn

One turns the screen right side up, the other, upside down.

Quick fix

maybe the monitor is upside down. I would like to see a short stream vid on this showing the problem. Make me a believer.

well I know my NVidia FX 5700 will allow me to rotate my screen 90 degrees either direction until the screen is upside down, but didn't know XP can be configured to do that as well. As I said, I tried the pgup pgdown thing and it didn't work for me.

It's not an XP feature. It has to do with your display driver.

Check the video card user guide to look for hot-keys for rotating the display.

To reset the display to normal,
Open display properties.
Click on advanced.
Click on the tab(s) for the adapter.

There should be a setting to rotate the display.

Select "normal" Landscape mode and apply the setting.
