    Screen Resolution

    Locked

    by n3voc ·

I want to set a screen resolution on local machine’s and regardless of who logs into that machine, it keeps that screen resolution. I set it as local Admin. to 1024X768 and then deleted all localy cashed profiles. However when a user logs in it will change the resolution to 800X600. Any ideas?

What kind of monitor are you using? Post a comment.

The type of monitor has nothing to do with this. It is a Windows issue.

You don’t say what OS but maybe you can change it for each user and then take the right to change it away from them in group policy.

Try to create new account, login to it, do what you need with screen resolution, change icons, start menu etc., logout back to administrator account and copy all files from “c:\documents and settings\” to “c:\documents and settings\Default User”. You can delete the account now. Every new account is getting its preferences from “Default User” directory.

If you want a user not to change resolution after account creation try to set policies to Display Properties.
