We have been experiencing an interesting problem with the display shrinking when toggling between 16 bit apps and 32 bit apps.
With the 32 bit app displayed, we will adjust the physical monitor controls to fill out the surrounding black space. Then, when toggling back and forth a few times, the 32 bit app display will revert (shrink) to a smaller state leaving plenty of black space surrounding the display.
It is unpredicable; sometimes it takes a few toggles, a few hours, a few days for the display to shrink.
We are running NT4sp6a on compaq deskpro ens 667’s and 733’s. Monitors are Compaq s710’s. It happens to both platforms, and only when using the 17 inch monitors. None of our 15 inch monitors experience shrinkage.
This happens whether logged in as Domain admin or the end user.
I have upgraded the BIOS thinking this issue might be at the hardware level. But this did not fix the issue.
Also, these same apps used to be run under W95 on the same workstations and monitors, without shrinkage.
This is a minor issue that does not affect functionality.
Any ideas?
